The stories of the prehistoric peoples who lived on the Southern Plains are amazing, but we archeologists are just scratching the surface.

Our mission is to perform archeological research on the Southern Plains and the Texas Panhandle, make important contributions to the field of academic archeology, and to disseminate our findings to the general public through educational outreach.

New Book Available Now!

Porch Talk is a popular book to introduce kids and parents to archeology in the Texas Panhandle. Written by Hank the Cowdog author John R. Erickson and professional archeologist Douglas K. Boyd, the book gives the account of one rancher’s discovery that led to over twenty years of archeological research of a prehistoric ghost town.

Audiobook also available!

All royalties from book sales are donated back to PAR.
